GMG Girls Basketball Team Eliminated; Lynnville Sully Girls Advance By: McKensie Vaske On Tuesday, February 16, the GMG girls faced a very competitive team. The first half of the game was fairly close. GMG was getting baskets, but just as many turnovers that Lynnville converted into points. GMG struggled offensively, because of Lynnville’s lockdown defense. Lynnville got the lead at the end of the first quarter and they never surrendered it. GMG’s leading scorers for the game as well as the season were Blaire Sonderleiter and McKensie Vaske with 11 points each. Josie Claassen pitched in 7 points with 11 blocks as well. Lynnville advanced again after playing North Tama on Friday, February 19 in the third round. GMG is returning every player next year. Their team will be mostly seniors and will have lots of experience. They are expecting big things out of themselves next season.
