Wedding/Acton-Harms

Erica Michelle Acton and Cory Nelson Harms were joined in marriage on Saturday, June 14, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Reverend Don Czapla officiated. Parents of the couple are Patrick and April Acton. Gladbrook, and Roger and Carol Harms, Titonka. Grandparents of the bride are James and Marjorie Mayer, Cedar Rapids, and grandparents of the groom are William and Dorothy Nelson, Marion. Music was provided by Chad and Karen Mussig, Gladbrook, with the bride’s sister Tara Acton also as soloist. The bride wore a white strapless fit-and-flare gown of Mikado silk that was ruched asymetrically, with a sweetheart bodice, corset back, and Swarovski crystal hip detail. She carried a bouquet of purple, lavender, and white roses. Tara Acton, North Liberty, served as her sister’s maid of honor, and Nicole Hulst Johnson, Bondurant, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Trocchio, Schaumburg, IL, friend of the bride, and Emily Camizzi, Hills, cousin of the bride. They wore short strapless satin gowns in Regency purple with sweetheart necklines and carried purple, lavender, and white rose bouquets. Flower girl was Lily Camizzi, Lone Tree, cousin of the bride, and ring bearers were Dylan Johnson and Lane Johnson, godson of the bride, both of Bondurant. The bride’s personal attendant was Wendi Woods, Lone Tree. Preston Harms, Nashua, was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were friends of the groom Ryan Harris, Huxley, formerly of Marshalltown, and Josh Riedel, Belmond, and cousin of the groom Nick Harms, Titonka. Ushers were Brennan Acton, Cedar Falls, brother of the bride, and Zach Feeley, Woodstock, IL, friend of the groom. They wore black tuxedos with white shirts and black ties, while the groom wore a black tux with a black shirt and white tie. A reception dinner and dance followed at the Regency Inn, Marshalltown. Hosts and hostesses were the groom’s uncle and aunt Kim and Deb Nelson, Marion, and Jeff and Susan Rose, Clear Lake, friends of the couple. Hayley Robinson Morey, Marshalltown, was guest book attendant and the groom’s aunt, Lennice Harms, Titonka, attended the wedding cake. The newlyweds honeymooned in Jamaica and now make their home in Clear Lake. The bride is an English teacher at Forest City High School, and the groom is a territory manager for R. J. Reynolds.
