Martin and Joyce Bruene will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this month. They were married in Glendale, California on March 14, 1949. They have resided in the Gladbrook area for the past 60 years where Joyce worked as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner while Martin operated a grain and livestock farm. In 1998 they moved to town. The couple has three children, Elizabeth (Steve) Hooper of Warren, Oregon; Jeff (Cheryl) Bruene of Gladbrook; and April Bruene of College Station, Texas.
