Westview February News

Once again our Night Out was cancelled because of the weather; that makes it three times that we have had to stay home, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a party here.

At 10:15 on the 5th Pastor Terry came for worship and bingo was played in the afternoon.

Janet Schildroth came on the 10th for her bible study and that is always a good time.

The Reinbeck library held a book reading at Westview with Sandra Nobel from Grundy Center who wrote the book The Fat Woman Mystery, this was very interesting and very well attended. Coffee and bars were served by the library board.

Bingo was played several times this month and we have started a bingo night at 5 p.m. on Saturday night for anyone that would like to come. It is .50 cents to play and those that would like to help cover the cost of pizza will order pizza when they are done.

Dennis Perry came on the 13th to entertain us. He plays the guitar and sings. This is always good.

The 14th Valentines Day and of course we had to have a party. A couple of games were played and then we ate. Does that surprise you?

Jane Ullery and Marian Thield enjoyed birthdays this month. Happy Birthday ladies.

Can you believe on the 18th it was a nice day and several Westview people made a trip to Cedar Falls Main Street-what a fun day.

Meals came from the Corner Cafe twice and Morris Inn once this month, this is always good and it is always a surprise.

Jim Kenney came on the 20th. What a good singer.

Sugar & Spice came to play on the 24th but it was only Spice that came. Sugar’s husband was in the hospital. The Reinbeck firemen-Brad, T.J., Jeff, Tim, Jamie and Shawn came and made omelets for our supper and while we were eating they talked about what to do in case of a fire or tornado. This was certainly enjoyed by everyone.

We ended the month with a Family or Friend Day. The Dike-New Hartford show choir came to entertain us at 2:00 p.m. Then at 3:00 p.m. we played several different games and at 4:00 we all played bingo. Supper was served at 5:00 p.m. which was maidrites, chips, macaroni salad, cole slaw, cookies and bars. This was well attended and a fun day-we will do this again.

Looking forward to spring so we can get out on the trail for a walk. But if we are still snowed in go to the Reinbeck library and check out the large print books that Westview donated in memory of our dear friends that have passed away.

Stop in for a visit anytime.
