GCMH LTC residents and their families celebrate Christmas

GCMH LTC Resident Alberta Sharp and Carla Green, LTC Manager.

Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) Long Term Care (LTC) residents and their families had a special treat at GCMH on Saturday, December 7th when they gathered to celebrate Christmas together with a special breakfast brunch prepared by the Dietary Team of Deb Babinat, Chef Bre Staker, Crystal Peterson and the rest of their staff.

A special visitor that morning was Santa; GCMH CEO Brian Keller put on the red suit and shared smiles, hugs, and laughter with everyone. Santa found his way to the front lobby where his helpers were busy setting up all the gifts donated by the GCMH staff – AKA Santa’s helpers. Each resident was brought to Santa for a picture and to be given the gift purchased for them by GCMH staff. LTC resident Alberta Sharp stated, “These are gifts that are carefully chosen for each of us, the person who bought my gift took the time to find something she knew I would enjoy and would fit me perfectly, and it does.”

The residents and their guests also enjoyed the wonderful piano music provided by Dylan Hendricks. Four GCMH Volunteers helped with the breakfast and gift giving: Richard Lamfers, Sonja Wilhau, Dot Matthews and Delores Peterson. This event was successful with the help of the GCMH Associates and Volunteers.
