The Long Term Care (LTC) Dining Room at Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) was filled with special skeletons for the Halloween season made by the residents and their 4th grade friends from Kelsey Meyer’s 4th grade class at Grundy Center Elementary School.

Each month a student is matched with a resident. For the October visit, the project was working together to build a skeleton. The bones were cut from white paper plates by the GCMH West Desk Volunteers. Resident Mattie Henricks stated, “My student is so smart, she measured each piece to make sure it was in the right place and then just like that, it was all done.” Mattie’s 4th grade friend is Gabrielle Patrick.

There are 19 students in the class who visits the hospital on the 3rd Wednesday each month. LTC resident, Emma Kalkwarf stated, “I always have so much fun when the kids come, it makes me feel young again.”
