Every morning we start the day gathered around the coffee pot around 9:00 a.m. Sometimes we have rolls, donuts, or whatever and sometimes we just have coffee, or hot chocolate and as soon as the mail gets here it is back to our rooms.

Our usual schedule of exercises, cards and bingo is a must do thing.

On the 4th the UCC circle group met in the activity room and later in the day a bunch of us drove around town to check out the pretty leaves. We all decided that Reinbeck has the prettiest leaves around. Then we stopped at the Fountain On Main for ice cream.

Pastor Plocher came at 10:00 a.m. on the 10th and again on the 31st for worship services. A good crowd came out for each of these. we really enjoy it.

Mae Jean Hoeppner had a birthday on the 11th and everyone enjoyed cake and punch served by her daughter Becky. Many more birthdays Mae Jean and thanks for a fun time. For lunch that day we had tenderloins from Trunck’s and at 2:00 it was bingo.

Exercises were held on the 12th with root beer floats to follow. I know we are defeating the purpose of exercising, but the floats are really good.

Janet Schildroth came on the 15th for our monthly bible study this is always interesting and the room is always full.

The Book Club met on the 17th at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. This is a group from the Reinbeck Library and also some of our Westview people.

Westview always gives a book to the library in memory of our departed Westview family. I Believe by Billy Graham in large print in memory of Jack Needham and Eye of the Storm by Hannah Alexande, also in large print in memory of Martha Cheeseman.

Whenever you are at Westview be sure and check out our library. We have a lot of books to read and a neat place to sit and relax and read.

Dennis Perry entertained us on the 18th. What a fun time that was. When he was here in September he asked us to write down any song we wanted to hear. We had a list of about 20 songs. I cheated a little. I sent him a copy of our list. He knew every one of them, but one called Memories, but by the time he left he had the right one figured out. I think we all know the words to every song.

The 20th was Connie Thede’s birthday so we celebrated on the 19th. She brought huge pecan rolls for our morning coffee. Thanks Connie and hope you had a Happy Birthday.

At 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd Sugar & Spice in to entertain us again and of course we had to eat. Kelly Dinsdale made us chili soup, corn bread and pumpkin bars.

Thursday the 25th, Jeanne Conrad, Ken Burdick and Neal Allen came and entertained us with some good old tunes so we got to sing along again which is always fun. Then at night several of us traveled to the Pizza Ranch in Eldora. If you are not full by the time you leave that’s your fault.

The 3rd & 4th year old day care kids came on the 30th at 11:15, some had their Halloween costumes on. We played a game and they sang several songs for us. And fruit juice and a pumpkin sugar cookie was served to everyone even the Westview people, to have with their coffee.

We didn’t have a Halloween party this year, because one of our former Westview family passed away, Marion Heckroth, so several of us went to Parkersburg for her visitation in the afternoon. I stayed here until 6:00 p.m. for Trick or Treaters and some of us went to the visitation for Mel Thede. Our sincere sympathy goes out to these families.

Also on the 31st we enjoyed dinner from the Corner Cafe so after that I don’t think we needed anything more. Guess this will be all for this month and yes we do other things besides eating all the time. Take care.
