February Westview news

What a fun month this was. On the 2nd it was the UCC group here and at 3 p.m. we had a Ground Hog Party. We had pictures of ground hogs all around Westview. Some were lighter, so that was the shadow, and the darker ones were the real ones. Whoever found the most by the time of the party got a prize. Marrietta Greve who is 90 plus said this was the first ground hog party she had ever been too.

Joan DeLaHunt had movies on the 4th and 18th Sometimes a Saturday afternoon gets kind of quiet. Skip Bo is getting popular on our Tuesday afternoon card day at 2 p.m. Bingo was played on the 9th and 23rd.

We had a sing-a-long after exercises on the 10th. Janet Schildroth came on the 13th for our Bible study. We look forward to this every month. Valentines Day was celebrated on the 14th with a candle light supper at 5 p.m. The menu was lasagna, jello salad, homemade bread, raspberry sherbet and a frosted valentine cookie and wine. Accordion music by Larry & Marian Noack was enjoyed while we ate.

Book Club met at 4 and 7 p.m. on the 15th. At 9:30 a.m. on the 21st Mardi Gras was celebrated with coffee and king’s cake. We were entertained at 2 p.m. on the 24th by the Dike-New Hartford show choir; this is always a special treat. Several people from the community came to see their performance. Punch, coffee and cookies were served afterwards. Their instructor was Jean Loger.

On the 23rd the Methodist ladies came for circle at 1:30 in the activity room. What a good crowd and our Methodist ladies from Westview really enjoyed this. A pajama party was held at 9 a.m. Saturday morning on the 25th. Everyone came in their pajamas and robes, some even brought their teddy bears. Egg casserole, coffee cake, fruit, milk, coffee and orange juice was served. What a fun time we had. We even had a couple Victoria Secret ladies with us.

We were partying again on the 27th at 4 p.m. as Sugar & Spice entertained us with a soup supper at 5 p.m., this is always a good time. And of course we had an extra day this month so after exercises on the 29th and we had some leap year trivia.

Jack Needham was the only one with a birthday this month. Happy birthday Jack. Pastor Love and Pastor Plocher will be coming to Westview for worship service and communion each month. This will be great for the Westview people. Well I think we have lived up to our reputation as the Party Palace for this month. So take care and you will be hearing from us again soon.
