Tara Petersen and Ryan Watermiller, both of Ankeny, are announcing their engagement and approaching wedding.

Parents of the couple are Dennis and Joan Petersen of Hartley, and Bob and Annette Watermiller of Reinbeck.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and attended the University of Northern Iowa. She graduated from UNI with a degree in accounting and is now a financial reporting accountant for Principal Financial Group in Des Moines. The groom-to-be is a graduate of Linn-Mar High School in Marion. He graduated from UNI with a degree in computer information systems and is also employed by Principal Financial as an IT application analyst.

The August wedding will take place in Estes Park, Colorado.
