Engagement

Dianne and David Van Heiden of Hudson, announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Marie Van Heiden, to Joel Allan Feder, son of Hillary and Daniel Feder of St. Louis Park, Minn.

Karen graduated from Hudson High School in 2005. She is a 2009 graduate of Drake University with degrees in marketing and entrepreneurial management. She is currently an Online Marketing Manager at Risdall Marketing Group in New Brighton, Minn.

Joel graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 2004 and received a marketing degree from Drake University in 2008. He is currently a Social Media Manager for High Gear Media out of Palo Alto, Calif.

Karen is the granddaughter of Anna Morrison, Reinbeck and the late Russell Morrison and Alice and Benjamin Van Heiden. Joel is the grandson of Betty Feder, Fargo, N.D., Gerald Kanter, Boca Raton, Fla. and the late Paul Feder and Ruth Kanter.

The couple currently resides in Plymouth, Minn. An August 2011 wedding is planned.

Engagement

Mike and Rita Hummel, of Marshalltown, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Sarah Christine, to Kyle Anthony Smith, son of Susanne and Dan Anderson and Pat and Michelle Bell.

Sarah is a graduate of Marshalltown High School and Mt. Mercy University. She is employed as an R.N. at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Kyle is a graduate of Marshalltown High School and is employed by Alliance Claims Solutions as a Quality Assurance Associate in Cedar Rapids.

Sarah and Kyle are planning a June 18 wedding at St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown.

Engagement

Emily Cheeseman and Tommy Wedmore are announcing their engagement and upcoming wedding.

The parents of the couple are Walt and Karen Cheeseman of Grundy Center and Pam and Maynard Wedmore of Gladbrook. The bride to be is a Registered Nurse specializing in orthopedics at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. The groom to be is a Relationship Manager at Aviva USA in West Des Moines.

The May 21 ceremony will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck at 3 p.m.

Mr. & Mrs. Ron Stewart of Rippey are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Angela Marie Stewart to Jason Michael Bru son of Mr. & Mrs. Ken Bru and the late Doreen Bru of Gladbrook. The couple will be married on May 21, 2011.
