The Little Rebels Learning Center (LRLC) in Reinbeck hosted Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg for a facility tour and discussion on March 11.

Reynolds indicated she chose the child care center as she was interested in learning about the successes the organization has seen in partnering with the city and school district to construct and expand their facility.

The center opened in 2009 and has grown to serve more than 140 children in 2021.

Reynolds made the stop as part of a 99 county tour for 2021.

One day earlier Reynolds announced two state initiatives related to child care, including two grant programs totaling over $13 million and a Child Care Task Force aimed at addressing child care shortages in Iowa.

During the stop, Reynolds met with LRLC staff and board members as well as city and Gladbrook-Reinbeck district leadership for an hour-long discussion that was closed to the public and to the media.
