Pesticide course offered October 28
Preregister before Oct. 21 for fall commercial pesticide applicator training recertification
Toledo, Iowa – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Tama County office will offer the Mosquito/Public Health Pest Management Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020. The program provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) can be seen at office locations across Iowa.
The local attendance site is Tama County Extension Office, 203 W. High St, Toledo, IA. Due to social distancing requirements preregistration is required and class sizes are limited to 10 attendees. Walk-ins on the day of the program will not be allowed. The course runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $35. One additional class will be held from 10-12:30pm on November 5, 2020. Pre-registration is also required for this session and walk in-n will not be allowed. The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7D (Community Insect Management), 8 (Public Health Pest Control), and 10 (Research and Demonstration). The course will cover topics such as: safe handling and storage of pesticides, laws and regulations, personal protective equipment, and pests, pests management and pesticides.
