Marjorie Luethje

Marjorie Luethje, 93 of Gladbrook, IA passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook. Private graveside services will be held at Crystal cemetery in rural Gladbrook. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice or Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. The Gladbrook Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with arrangements. Marjorie was born March 8, 1927 to George and Clardina (Staack) Meyer in Beaman, IA She graduated from Gladbrook Community High School in 1944. Marjorie was united in marriage to Loren Luethje on May 4, 1947 at Peace Church in Gladbrook by Reverend Barten. They farmed all their married life. She also was a cook at Westbrook Acres for many years. Marjorie loved to sew and bake cakes for family and friends. She and her husband loved to dance and especially loved living in the country.

Marjorie is survived by three children, Ralph (Beverly) Luethje of Nevada, IA, Ann Daniel of Gladbrook, and Glenn (Ella) Luethje of Guyton, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsey), Mary Ann (Curt), Becky (Chris), Tony, Mark, Mary, Kindra (Cody), Joseph, 13 great grandchildren, Hayden, Carver, Lilly, Lucas, Alex, Jackson, Adam, Amy, Alison, Abbie, Samantha, Josie, Gracie, and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren, a brother, Henry Meyer, two sisters, Vernitta Turner and Alma Jacobs, as well as several brother in laws and sister in laws.
