G-R’s Pifkin wins Pine Lake Run boys title

ELDORA – Gladbrook-Reinbeck sophomore harrier Caleb Pikfin raced his way to the boys title at the Pine Lake Run on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Pine Lake Country Club in Eldora.
Amid sweltering temperatures, Pifkin won the meet in a time of 19 minutes, 2.1 seconds, beating out runner-up Nathan Zuck, a freshman from Jesup, who finished in 19:12.1.
Additional Rebel finishes included senior Caleb Bowser who came in 24th, notching a course personal record of 22:28.0, and senior Campbell Gramer who was 44th with a season PR of 24:52.6. Rebel trio Tavin Ruden (26:18.1), Braiden Sager (26:33.8) and Mason Wrider (26:41.3) finished in succession, taking 53rd, 54th and 55th, respectively.
GMG’s Braylon Darter finished 45th (25:09.0).
Jesup, ranked 13th in Class 2A, took the team title with just 30 points, followed by Dike-New Hartford (57), and Aplington-Parkersburg (84). Gladbrook-Reinbeck was sixth (143) in the eight-team scoring field.
