Rebels send Clark to state; break 4x1 record

BELLE PLAINE – The Rebel boys track and field team competed in Belle Plaine for the state-qualifier meet. We had many outstanding performances. As a team we finished sixth in the 14-team field with 52 points. We were guaranteed at least one event at the state meet as Hudson Clark won the 400-meter hurdles in 55.84 seconds.

We also had one other event accomplish a great feat. The 4×100 relay of Treyvon Herron, Cole Gramer, Hudson Clark and Keegan Hurley broke the school record that was set in 1996. The former record was 45.53 and this quartet ran 45.49! Awesome job to these athletes and the team.

We had a few events that were borderline qualifying for state. Last year, Trey’s time would make it in the 100 meters and our sprint medley time would have made it, but each year is different and kids just keep getting faster!

Thanks to all who supported, helped, provided and created a successful season! Go Rebels!
