REINBECK — Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls basketball senior standouts Kennedy Brant and Elly Sieh have both been named to the North Iowa Cedar League (NICL) All Conference First Team for the second year running.
Brant, a 6-foot forward, led the conference this season in rebounds (355) and blocks (82) — far surpassing her nearest competitors, while also racking up the second-most points scored (446; behind only Sieh) and third-most assists (94).
Earlier this season, Brant announced on social media her official commitment to continue her academic and basketball careers at Wartburg College, writing, “Thank you to Coach Amsberry, Coach Little, and Coach Jacobs for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I’m incredibly grateful for my family, teammates, and coaches who have supported me every step of the way.”
Sieh, a 5-foot-11 point guard, was also a repeat first-team selection this season for the Rebels. She led the NICL in points scored with 468 and sank the third-most 3-pointers with 48. She was also sixth in assists (78) and eighth in steals (70).
Rebel senior Brinn Schneider received honorable mention.
