Class 2A No. 10 Grundy Center outduels 1A No. 4 Gladbrook-Reinbeck, 44-29, in North Iowa Cedar League showdown

Grundy Center’s defense ultimately proved too much for G-R, leading the visiting Spartans to a 44-29 victory. While Brant appeared somewhat off her usual stellar game that evening, she also was clearly frustrated with her team’s offense which repeatedly turned the ball over, missing opportunities to funnel to her while open under the basket. Brant scored nine points against the Spartans, including three field goals in quick succession toward the end of the third quarter to bring the Rebels within two points of catching Grundy Center before the Spartan train ran away with the score in the fourth.
