MARSHALLTOWN – The Marshalltown Community College athletic department has been informed by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) that 84 MCC student-athletes qualified for Fall Academic All-Region honors, including three local to northern Tama County.

Among the teams featuring local student-athletes, the Esports team qualified 34 players, including First Team honorees Johnathan “Johnny” Cochran and Landon Kucera of Traer. The volleyball team qualified seven players, including Second Team honoree Olivia Maddux of Gladbrook.

First Team honorees must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 to 4.0, and Second Team honorees must have a 3.0 to 3.49 GPA.

Background

The Marshalltown Community College Tigers compete in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), and is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Marshalltown Community College is a member of the Iowa Valley Community College District.
