GARWIN — Collins-Maxwell jumped out to a 49-0 halftime lead and defeated the GMG football team 55-24 last Friday night in 8-Man District 6 play.

C-M quarterback Cooper Wierson ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns while passing for 111 yards and three more scores for the Spartans (5-1, 3-0), who share the district lead with Gladbrook-Reinbeck.

GMG junior quarterback Ethan Klemesrud had a part of all three touchdowns, rushing eight times for 120 yards and two scores. He was 8-of-17 passing for 109 yards, one touchdown and one interceptions. Jacob Snider hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass, while Jordan Rhodes made three grabs for 37 yards.

Bodie Hutchinson led the Wolverines (0-5, 0-3) with five tackles.
