Rebels can’t keep pace with Dike-New Hartford

DIKE – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck baseball team couldn’t keep up with Dike-New Hartford in a 12-6 loss to the Wolverines in Friday’s (May 30) cross-NICL clash.

The Rebels (2-3) were led by Brandon Mathern, who hit a two-run home run. Trevor Mathern was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Treyvon Herron and Hudson Clark each had a single.

Austen Mathern got the loss on the mound, allowing eight runs on 12 hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out two.

Seven of Dike-New Hartford’s 18 hits went for extra-bases.
