REINBECK — The Class 1A No. 15 Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls’ basketball team (ranked No. 13 as of press time) gradually pulled away for a 48-31 win over Waterloo Columbus Catholic in the Monday, Dec. 2 season opener for both teams.

Kennedy Brant powered the Rebels with game-highs of 19 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, pulling down nine offensive rebounds in the win. Lily Dripps added 13 points and eight boards, and Elly Sieh got 10 points and six boards.

Macey O’Brien had 11 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, four blocked shots and two steals to lead Columbus.
