GMG cross country boys get bronze at Iowa Star

WAVERLY — The GMG boys cross country team earned a third-place finish at last Thursday’s (Oct. 17) Iowa Star Conference Meet at the Max Cross Country Course in Waverly.
The Wolverines scored 85 points, finishing behind champion Baxter (35) and runner-up Collins-Maxwell (63).
Grady Dieleman steered GMG with a seventh-place overall finish in 17:54, setting a personal record in the process and earning All-Conference. Rider Kupka was 17th in 18:58.8, Brayton Davis finished 18th in 19:03.4 (PR), Henry Dieleman was 22nd in 19:23 (PR) and Drayson Stephenson was the final scorer in 45th in 21:09.1.
BCLUW was fourth with 102 points, while North Tama did not field a full team.
Tonight, Thursday, Oct. 24, the Wolverines are scheduled to travel to South Hamilton for a 1A state qualifying meet.
