Woodbury commits to Kohawks football
GARWIN – Last Friday afternoon in the high school gymnasium in Garwin, Green Mountain-Garwin senior Jabari Woodbury signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and football careers next year with the Coe College Kohawks in Cedar Rapids.
Woodbury, who will play wide receiver for Coe, led the Wolverines this season in receiving yards with 950, fielding 11 touchdowns and running in another six. He also helped lead the Wolverine defense with 56.5 total tackles (46 solo) and two sacks.
At Coe, Woodbury plans to major in biology with thoughts of becoming a doctor although, he admitted, the lengthy amount of time medical school requires does daunt him somewhat.
Those in attendance for Woodbury’s signing on Friday included his parents Tammy Woodbury (left) and Korey Woodbury (right), and his brother Jacoby Woodbury.
The Kohawks’ first game of the 2024-25 season is a home match-up with the Cornell Rams – part of the Bremner Cup series – set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at Clark Field in Cedar Rapids. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
