Top-ranked Pirates put Gladbrook-Reinbeck away

HUDSON — Culin Ugrin scored a game-high 27 points to lead Class 2A No. 1 Hudson past the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ basketball team 81-52 in last Monday’s (Dec. 18) NICL showdown.

The Pirates (8-0) got 76 of their 81 points from their five starters. Ugrin shot 10-of-15 from the floor, going 5-of-7 from 3-point range, en route to 27 points. Tanner Michael added 18 points, Camden Davis 12, Lyle Olson 10 and Kiean Crile 9.

Isaac Clark led Gladbrook-Reinbeck (4-3) with 16 points and five assists. Michael Boyd totaled 14 points and Drew Eilers finished with 10 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds.
