WOODWARD — Drew Wheater won the 190-pound championship as East Marshall/GMG/Meskwaki boys wrestling finished seventh at the Dennis Field Invitational at Woodward-Granger High School on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Wheater went 3-0 and pinned AC/GC’s Michael Fuller in the second period for the 190-pound title. The Mustangs finished with 97.5 points in the team standings; Earlham won the team title with 191 points.

EM/GMG/Meskwaki added a pair of bronze medalists with Cade Burchland going 1-2 to finish third in a round robin at 106 and Johnathan Edel was third at 215 pounds with a first-period pin in the third-place match with Colfax-Mingo’s Donovan Baucom.
