Wolverines win season finale, notch winningest season since 2016

MAYNARD – The GMG football team completed its winningest season since 2016 with the October 19 victory 44-24 over West Central.

The visiting Wolverines (4-5) scored at least one touchdown in each of four quarters to beat West Central (2-7). The Blue Devils outgained GMG in total offense, 323-290, but lost the turnover battle 3-1.

GMG quarterback Slate Witte finished 16-for-24 for 146 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Jabari Woodbury had seven catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns, while Rider Kupka caught seven balls for 55 yards. Anthony Waters had a 9-yard TD catch as well.

Witte led the GMG ground game with 104 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, and Kupka had a 4-yard TD run as well.

Matthew DeSchamp led the GMG defense with 12.5 tackles and a fumble recovery. Kupka added 9.5 tackles, while Waters had 7.5 stops and a fumble recovery. Austin Pencil intercepted a pass as well.

Adam Scott rushed 27 times for 145 yards and three touchdowns to lead West Central.
