Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls handle Wildcats with ease

Three players scored in double figures as the Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls’ basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 61-14 rout of Janesville at home on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Megan Cooley scored 12 of her team-leading 15 points in the first half for the Rebels. Kennedy Brant netted 12 points and Elly Sieh added 10 as Gladbrook-Reinbeck (8-10) led from wire-to-wire. Lauren Boyer contributed six points and Emma McClintock chipped in five.

The Rebels led 21-6 after the opening quarter and 44-12 by halftime. Janesville (1-17) was unable to score in the third quarter and got just two points in the fourth.
