In their only action during the past week, the GMG Wolverines volleyball team came back after a first set loss to defeat the Baxter Bolts 3-1 on Oct. 7.

The Wolverines took the final three sets with scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23.

Sophomore Adelyn Sienknecht paced GMG’s offense with 10 kills and three aces.

Jenna Yilek and Jessica Johnson each contributed six kills while Kennadi Sederburg put in five to fill out the Wolverine’s attack.

On the defensive side, Abby Parks led her team with 38 digs, while Sederburg and Yilek patrolled the net, each blocking four Bolts shots.

GMG played Thursday against East Marshall and will travel to Tripoli for the Iowa Star Conference Tournament on Saturday.

GMG will begin playoff action by hosting Baxter on Oct. 18. Should the advance, they would likely face Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Oct. 20 in Reinbeck.
