GC/G-R wins Dike-New Hartford meet
A measured performance from Kaden Lynch led the way for Grundy Center-Gladbrook Reinbeck as GC/G-R took home the team title Tuesday at Dike-New Hartford’s Invite.
Lynch finished in third place in a time of 16 minutes, 57 seconds. He was followed up by Soren Cleveland in ninth place with a time of 17:16.7 to give GC/G-R two top-ten runners. Brennen Sager finished the race in 15th place at 17:30.9 and Ethan Sadler took 21st place with a run of 17:46.9.
This left GC/G-R with a team score of 78 — taking a win by 10 points over Charles City
GC/G-R girls finished in 16th place at 324 points. Taylor Stahl ran a 21:33.9 and finished 30th to be the lead runner, and Kate Hayes finished in 50th place with a 22:18.2.
The combined Gladbrook Reinbeck and Grundy Center squad ran Thursday at the South Hardin meet and will line up for their state-qualifying race next Thursday with the site yet to be announced.
