Wolverines host dual tournament DIKE — The Dike-New Hartford/Gladbrook-Reinbeck wrestling team hosted its dual tournament on Saturday. The Wolverines went 2-2 in the tournament with the team losing to Dowling Catholic 54-16 and Mount Vernon 54-24. D-NH/G-R picked up a 48-27 win over St. Ansgar and a 45-30 win over South Winneshiek. Both Dylan Ohrt (126) and Nick Reinicke (145) both went undefeated. Jace Petersen (138) and Caden Ragsdale (132) both went 3-1 in the meet.

G-R boys head to break with 6-0 record FAIRBANK — The Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ basketball team maintained its perfect record on Friday with a 62-52 win over Wapsie Valley. The Rebels (6-0) opened the game with an 18-9 lead in the first quarter but the Warrior took a 43-41 lead after outscoring G-R 19-10 in the third quarter. Despite Wapsie Valley’s effort, G-R scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to hold on for the win and stave off a comeback. The Rebels had four players reach double-digits. William Kiburis had a team-leading 18 points and eight assists while Tyler Tscherter scored 17 points and hauled in seven rebounds. Dylan Riffey and Eli Thede each scored 11 points. Rebels fall to Wapsie Valley in overtime FAIRBANK — The Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls’ basketball team dropped its third game in a row on Friday to Wapsie Valley, 47-44. The Rebels were outscored 9-6 in the overtime loss. Katie Clark had a team-leading 13 points and nine rebounds while Emma McClintock scored 12 points and had four steals. G-R (1-7) totaled 34 rebounds and 12 steals in the loss.
