The GC-GR Cross Country athletes have been working hard all season. All that work paid off on Thursday, October 24th at the Class 2A District (State Qualifying) Meet hosted by Dike-New Hartford at the Fox Ridge Golf Course. For the second straight year, the entire boys team qualified for the State Meet which will be held in Fort Dodge at the Kennedy Golf Course on Saturday, November 2nd. They also had one individual, Taylor Stahl, from the girls squad qualify. To qualify individually for the State Meet, an individual must finish in the top 15 of all runners. The top three teams qualify to send their entire team to the State Meet. Taylor Stahl finished the 5K race in 7th place with a time of 20:12. The boys team finished 3rd with 90 points, just five points behind 2nd place South Hardin. Monticello finished on top with 36 points among the 14 competing teams. Kenny Day, Sam Schildroth & Paul Brockett also qualified individually by finishing in 5th, 11th & 13th place respectively.
