REINBECK – Walker Thede finished with a career-high 20 points to lead the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ basketball team to a season-opening 55-43 victory over Grundy Center in Friday’s NICL West Division showdown.

Thede made a pair of 3-pointers and had five rebounds for the Rebels (1-0, 1-0). Mason Skovgard finished with 13 points and two blocked shots, and Caden Kickbush added 11 points and four boards. Jackson Kiburis had a team-leading 12 rebounds for G-R.
