GLADBROOK – Samantha Ubben tossed a one-hitter and Leah Yantis homered to help the Class 2A No. 13 BCLUW softball team defeat Gladbrook-Reinbeck 10-0 in six innings in Monday’s NICL West Division contest.

The Comets (23-8) compiled 11 hits altogether, with four of them going for extra bases. Yantis finished 2-for-3 with a double and a home run to lead the BCLUW bats. Ubben and Jordyn Beeghly both went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Ubben struck out eight and did not walk a batter. The lone hit for the Rebels came from Marissa Berendes.
