REINBECK – The Vinton-Shellsburg girls’ basketball team secured its first win of the season, surviving overtime to beat Gladbrook-Reinbeck 51-46 on Thursday night.

The Vikings (1-9) outscored G-R 10-5 in the overtime period to pick up the victory.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck sophomore Taylor Gienger scored a career-high 23 points to go with 10 rebounds before fouling out, and junior Megan Swanson added a career-best 14 points to go with 11 boards. Morgan Kelley pitched in with six points for the Rebels (0-9).
