GRUNDY CENTER – In a boys’ golf triangular with Gladbrook-Reinbeck/Grundy Center, East Marshall and GMG, the hosts took first place at the Grundy Center Town & Golf Country Club on Friday.

Jake Bangasser was the individual champion, shooting a 42, and Cam Murphy topped teammate Austin Burroughs to take the runner-up position in a playoff after both shot a 43. Matt Roeding helped out the scoring efforts for the winning Spartans with a 45 of his own.

East Marshall’s Dru Boliver shot a 45 to lead the Mustangs; Dawson Riemenscheider was second on his team with a 51; Dawson Sawyer was close behind with a 55 and Jim Sylvester helped out scoring with a 56.

GMG was led by Aaron Fleming, who shot 50 on Friday. Evan Espencheid shot a 59 for second among his peers. Kamrin Chizek had a 60-stroke day for third and Conner Stonewall had a 63 to round out GMG’s top scorers.
