G-R 77, South Hamilton 71
JEWELL – Behind Joe Smoldt’s 31 points, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ basketball team topped South Hamilton 77-71 in non-conference play Tuesday night.
Smoldt was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line, and sank four 3-pointers.
The Class 1A No. 9 Rebels (10-2) got 13 points and nine rebounds from Tyler Pierce. Jake Schuman and Josh Cooley scored eight points apiece. Caden Kickbush and Matt Roeding added six points each.
South Hamilton (5-7) was led by Collin Hill with 27 points. Conner Hill had 17 points, including five 3-pointers.
G-R travels to West Marshall on Friday.
