Anamosa knocks off G-R at Winter Hoops Classic
WAVERLY – Anamosa announced its return to full health with an impressive win over Class 1A No. 7 Gladbrook-Reinbeck, 66-56, in the next-to-last game of the Winter Hoops Classic on Saturday at Wartburg College.
The Blue Raiders (8-4) racked up their fourth straight victory while ending Gladbrook-Reinbeck’s four-game win streak.
Joe Smoldt led the Rebels (9-2) with 22 points, four steals and three assists. Tyler Eiffler finished with 14 points and a team-leading eight rebounds, while Tyler Pierce contributed nine points. Matt Roeding added seven points in the G-R defeat.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck plays its third straight non-conference foe on Tuesday, visiting South Hamilton. The Rebels’ fourth consecutive game away from home follows with Friday’s NICL West Division contest at West Marshall.
