JANESVILLE – Lauren Husmann notched six kills, two blocks and served up a pair of aces, but the Gladbrook-Reinbeck volleyball team couldn’t pull the upset falling to third-ranked Janesville 25-16, 25-19, 25-16 in a Class 1A Region 5 quarterfinal Tuesday.

Sydney Brown came up with 13 digs and Hayley Weber added nine along with a team-bet four aces on 10-for-10 serving. Weber and Madeline Mussig tallied three kills apiece, Leah Holman dished out 11 assists and Marissa Berendes served 11-for-11 with three aces for the Rebels (15-17).

Janesville (23-14) advances to host North Tama in a semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m.
