ACKLEY – The AGWSR wrestling team racked up six pins to rush past the RebelHawks 49-21 here Thursday.

The Cougars’ Clay Meinders, ranked second in Class 1A at 220 pounds, flattened Gladbrook-Reinbeck/North Tama’s Tanner Calderwood in 49 seconds to lead the charge.

Miguel Reyes (132), Josh June (152), Levi Stockdale (170), Cruz Vera (182) and Michael Young (285) also posted pins for AGWSR. Ian Heetland added a 10-2 major decision at 126 and Caleb Meinders earned a 10-5 decision at 195.

Bronson Wrage provided the RebelHawks’ lone win that didn’t come by way of forfeit besting Lucas Schumacher by a 6-4 decision at 138.

AGWSR hosts the Wags Invite Saturday at 10:30 a.m., while the RebelHawks host Wapsie Valley and Waterloo Columbus in Traer next Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
