Rebels drop only 2nd Dual of the Year

The Rebels were defeated by the Denver Cyclones 161-168. Kevin Trobaugh led the way for the Rebels with a 37, which also gave him medalist honors. Jacob Smoldt followed with a 41. Brady Billerbeck fired a 45 along with Parker Bolt. Denver is a good team and avenged their sectional loss from a year ago the Rebels handed them at Fox Ridge. There is no time to dwell on the loss as the Rebels travel to Grundy Center for a triangular with South Tama. This is only the second time this year the Rebels have lost at home. I wish the seniors could have won their last meet at Oak Leaf, but will move on and concentrate on winning a conference title.

Golfers beat Grundy Center & South Tama

The Rebels traveled to Grundy Center on a sunny, but windy day on Mayday. The last time the Rebels played Town & Country it didn’t treat them very well. The Rebels shot a 183 to Grundy Center’s 189, and South Tama’s 208. Leading the way for the Rebels and receiving medalist honors was Kevin Trobaugh with a 44. Brady Billerbeck was runner up medalist with a 45. Parker Bolt improved to a 46 and freshmen Bradon Trepp shot a 48. It was nice to count some scores from other individuals. Hopefully the Rebels have figured out the course and will score well at sectionals on May 11th.

Rebels Can’t Conquer South Hills

On Friday, May 4, the Rebels traveled to South Hills to take on Hudson and North Tama. The Rebels were trying to avenge a loss to Hudson earlier in the season at the Spartan Invite. We came up short and were unable to get the victory. Despite having the medalist Kevin Trobaugh and runner-up Jacob Smoldt the Rebels were still defeated 172-169. The Rebels were able to beat North Tama by 13 strokes though. Kevin shot a 39 while Smoldt shot a 41. Rounding out scoring for the Rebels were Cobren Bird and Parker Bolt with 46’s. The Rebels will now travel to State Center for NICL Conference.
