GMG Weight Room The GMG wieght room will be open Monday thru Thursdays, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting Monday, November 7.


Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary The Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary will meet on Sat., Nov. 19th, 9:30 at Westbrook Acres. Sherry Scarf, Melissa Sienknecht, and Jill Baumeier are in charge. You will be making Christmas favors for the Senior Citizens dinner in December. Lisa, Jackie, and Cynthia are in charge of the Candlelight Christmas Program for Dec. 14th.


Veterans Day Program The Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary is hosting a Veterans Day Program at Westbrook Acres on Fri., Nov. 11th, at 2 p.m. Each veteran will be honored. After the program, coordinated by Americanism Chairman Lisa Reinhard,  refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.


Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary The Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary Veterans Day Celebration will be held on Tues., Nov. 22nd, at 6:30 at the Memorial Building. Bring a covered dish and your table service. Legion State, District and County Commanders will be our guest. Program will be by the attendees and volunteers on the Honor Flight. Hostesses are Trudi Scott, Deb Harre, and Kathy Herink.


KIDS SHOPPING DAY! KIDS, come to “THE GLADBROOK CHRISTMAS STORE”, located in the MEMORIAL BUILDING to find great Christmas gifts for your family! There will be something for everyone. The store will BE OPEN from 9:00 – 2:00 on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10th. Items are donated by the good folks in Gladbrook. There will be N0 exchange of MONEY in our store! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!


UMC BAKE SALE United Methodist Church is baking for you! While you’re checking out Gladbrook’s “Holiday Fest” on SAT., NOV. 19th, stop at the City Center’s THEATER LOBBY for a large choice of scrumptious holiday treats. We’ll be there from 9:00 – 3:30. You will find plenty of goodies ready for you to enjoy that day, and/or put in the freezer for the upcoming holidays. See you there!


Gladbrook Gals & Guys Tama County Humane Society Fundraiser The Gladbrook Gals and Guys 4-H Club will be hosting a Tama County Humane Society community fundraiser on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building.  From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, a pasta bar dinner, with various pasta options, will be available for a free will donation.  Adoptable dogs and cats from the Tama County Humane Society will available on site to visit.  Feel free to bring donated items, including cat and dog food, treats, toys, and cat litter, for the Humane Society.  Come support your local animal shelter on November 13th!


Gladbrook Women’s Club Holiday Happenings The Gladbrook Community Women’s Club will host their annual Holiday Happenings Monday, November 21, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building. Diner begins at 6:30 p.m., musical program by local talent. Limited tickets available from any member or call (641) 473-2087 or (641) 473-2528 before November 10. Cost of tickets is $15.


Gladbrook Trees Forever Gladbrook Trees Forever reminds residents to slowly apply 5 gallons of water weekly to newly planted trees.


Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
