Garwin Christian Church Election Day Turkey Supper The Annual Election Day Turkey Supper will held at the Garwin Christian Church, located at 209 Center Street, Garwin, Tuesday, November 8, serving from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Menu includes turkey, dresssing, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, green beans, coleslaw, homemade cranberry relish, rolls, relish tray, pie, cake, and beverage. Take-outs available by calling (641) 499-2445 that day.


Veterans Day Program The Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary is hosting a Veterans Day Program at Westbrook Acres on Fri., Nov. 11th, at 2 p.m. Each veteran will be honored. After the program, coordinated by Americanism Chairman Lisa Reinhard,  refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.


Garwin Revitalization Community Breakfast Garwin Revitalization Committee will host a Community Breakfast on Sunday, November 6, serving from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Garwin city Park Shelter House. Menu includes Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage, toast, coffee and juice. This is a free will offering. All proceeds go towards community projects.


Gladbrook Women’s Club The Gladbrook Women’s Club will meet November 10, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Peace Church. Pat Goos is hosting and the program will be Kay Barfels, “Making Easy Decorations”. For a ride please call Shirley Miell at (641) 473-2528.


Gladbrook United Methodist Church Election Night Supper The Gladbrook Methodist Church will host their annual Election Night Supper, Tuesday, November 8, serving from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Menu includes chicken noodle, potato, and chili soup by the bowl or quart. Beef burgers, tacos, taco salad, salads, and homemade pie. Carry-outs and deliveries available by calling (641) 473-2025.

Gladbrook Gals & Guys Tama County Humane Society Fundraiser The Gladbrook Gals and Guys 4-H Club will be hosting a Tama County Humane Society community fundraiser on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building.  From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, a pasta bar dinner, with various pasta options, will be available for a free will donation.  Adoptable dogs and cats from the Tama County Humane Society will available on site to visit.  Feel free to bring donated items, including cat and dog food, treats, toys, and cat litter, for the Humane Society.  Come support your local animal shelter on November 13th!

Gladbrook Women’s Club Holiday Happenings The Gladbrook Community Women’s Club will host their annual Holiday Happenings Monday, November 21, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building. Diner begins at 6:30 p.m., musical program by local talent. Limited tickets available from any member or call (641) 473-2087 or (641) 473-2528 before November 10. Cost of tickets is $15.


Gladbrook Trees Forever Gladbrook Trees Forever reminds residents to slowly apply 5 gallons of water weekly to newly planted trees.


Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
