Gladbrook Legion Pancake Breakfast The Gladbrook Legion is hosting their first pancake breakfast for the fall on Sunday, October 30 at the Memorial Bldg, serving from 7-12:30pm. Menu includes eggs, sausage, bisquits and gravy, drink along with those fluffy pancakes. Come as we support our Veterans projects.


WOW Group The WOW Group will meet Wednesday, November 2, 5:30 p.m. at the Gladbrook Methodist Church to carpool to Carol’s Restaurant in Conrad. Call Kay Lowry at (641) 473-2625 for a ride.


Garwin Revitalization Community Breakfast Garwin Revitalization Committee will host a Community Breakfast on Sunday, November 6, serving from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Garwin city Park Shelter House. Menu includes Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage, toast, coffee and juice. This is a free will offering. All proceeds go towards community projects.


Gladbrook Commercial Club The Gladbrook Commercial Club will meet on Thurs., Nov. 3rd, 6:30 a.m. at Gifts of Grace. Tree lighting information will be passed out and other holiday projects will be discussed and a report from the Christmas Party Committee. Call Carolyn 473-2261, so she has an idea how many are coming


Gladbrook United Methodist Church Election Night Supper The Gladbrook Methodist Church will host their annual Election Night Supper, Tuesday, November 8, serving from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Menu includes chicken noodle, potato, and chili soup by the bowl or quart. Beef burgers, tacos, taco salad, salads, and homemade pie. Carry-outs and deliveries available by calling (641) 473-2025.


Gladbrook Senior Citizens Dinner Gladbrook Senior Citizens Dinner will be at the Chapel Church on Friday, November 11, at 11:30 p.m. Please call Pat Oettchen at (641) 473-2530 with your reservations by Saturday, November 5.


Gladbrook Gals & Guys Tama County Humane Society Fundraiser The Gladbrook Gals and Guys 4-H Club will be hosting a Tama County Humane Society community fundraiser on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building.  From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, a pasta bar dinner, with various pasta options, will be available for a free will donation.  Adoptable dogs and cats from the Tama County Humane Society will available on site to visit.  Feel free to bring donated items, including cat and dog food, treats, toys, and cat litter, for the Humane Society.  Come support your local animal shelter on November 13th!

Gladbrook Women’s Club Holiday Happenings The Gladbrook Community Women’s Club will host their annual Holiday Happenings Monday, November 21, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building. Diner begins at 6:30 p.m., musical program by local talent. Limited tickets available from any member or call (641) 473-2087 or (641) 473-2528 before November 10. Cost of tickets is $15. Gladbrook Trees Forever Gladbrook Trees Forever reminds residents to slowly apply 5 gallons of water weekly to newly planted trees.


Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
