Corn Carnival Dinner The Corn Carnival Corporation will be hosting a dinner on Sun., March 27th, 11 a.m.-1p.m. at the Memorial Buidling. A pork loin dinner will be served with all the trimmings. Cost is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for kids. Carry-outs and deliveries are available. North Iowa Cedar League Senior Game What: Basketball Game, NICL East Seniors vs. NICL West Seniors Where: Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School in Reinbeck When: Friday March 18, 2011 with the girls at 6:00 pm followed by the boys Who: Senior basketball girls and boys from the NICL East and West Admission: $4 , 5 and under free. Features: Girls game, Girls 3 point contest, Boys game, Boys 3 point contest, Dunk contest. This is a great event. This is the 18th year for this event. It is a stage to really showcase the talent of the NICL. Many college coaches are regulars at this game. It will be a very enjoyable night. Come out and see these young people put on a show. G-R players include Lauren Bengen, Taylor Harris, Levi Petersen, and Kyle Snider.


Senior Citizens Dinner The next Senior Citizens dinner will be held Friday, March 11, 11:30 a.m., at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church. Please call with reservations to Pat Oettchen at (641) 473-2530 by March 5. Anyone 55 years and older is welcome to attend. No table service necessary.


Gladbrook Legion Pancake Breakfast The Gladbrook Legion is hosting its last pancake breakfast for the season on Sunday, March 13 at the Memorial Bldg. Serving the usual pancakes, eggs, sausage, bisquits and gravy from 7am til 1pm. All proceeds to go to the maintenance of the Memorial Park. We thank the community for their support of our Legion projects. See you on the 13th! Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary The Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary March Birthday Party will be held at 6:30 p.m. Mon., March 14th. This is a potluck and bring your own dishes. There will be a program. Hostesses are Lisa Reinhard, Beth Miller, and Joan King. Please bring a word book or stamps for the Jr. President’s project.


Wolfcreek Whirlwinds 4-H Spaghetti Dinner Wolfcreek Whirlwinds will hold their annual Spaghetti Dinner, Sunday, March 20, serving from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Gladbrook Memorial Building. Adults, $6.00, under 10, $4.00. Contact 4-H members for tickets or call (641) 473-2500.


G-R Athletic Banquet The annual G-R Athletic Banquet, honoring high school athletes in grades 9 thru 12, will be held on Sat., April 2 at the Lincoln Amvet Hall. Tickets are on sale beginning March 7 thru March 25 at the High School, Middle School, and the G-R Business Office. Remember that the HS & MS offices will be closed during Spring Break, March 14-18. Tickets are $7 for Adults, $5 for HS Athletes, and $6 for students 8th grade & below.


RE-Employment Services Orientation Toledo Public Library March 15th, 2011 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Toledo Public Library and Iowa Works will be hosting a Re-Employment Orientation at the library. This is a great workshop for those looking for employment, or wanting a career change. You can learn how to fill out on-line applications, update your resume and prepare for job interviews. Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
