Holiday Bazaar Donations Needed The Garwin 4th of July Fundraising Committee is hosting a Kid’s Holiday Bazaar on December 12 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. (more information to follow). Kids of all ages can come and purchase a gift for family members. All gifts are $1.00 (five gift limit). Free gift wrapping. The request if for new or gently used unwrapped items, examples: candles, home decor, kitchen items, flashlights, fishing/hunting items, perfume/cologne, misc. tools, ties, screwdrivers, tape measures, jewelry, bath & body, picture frames, etc. NO apparel please! Drop-off locations: Pronto, Lincoln Savings Bank at Garwin, GMG Preschool, c/o Jenni Gray.


Gladbrook Auxilairy K-2nd Grade Christmas Party The Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary is planning a Christmas party for Kindergartners through 2nd graders on Sat., Dec. 11th, 9-10:30 a.m. The boys and girls will be treated to a waffle breakfast in the “Festival of Trees” in the City Center. Other activities being planned include a craft, games, and story. Every child will pick out a Christmas surprise. The holiday party is being planned by Joan King, Auxiliary Children & Youth Chairman and Jeanne Paustian, Auxiliary Co-President. You do not need to make reservations. Just be there by 9:00 a.m.


2nd Annual Kid’s Holiday Bazaar The Garwin 4th of July Committee is sponsoring their 2nd Annual Kid’s Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, December 12, 2010, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old Grocery Store in Garwin. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming to town from 12 to 1 p.m. (picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus). Kid’s Shopping Spree immediately following, $1 gifts (five gift limit). Hot dog, chips and drink, $2.


Gladbrook Gals & Guys meeting Bring your 10 dozen cookies to the Memorial building at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 11. We will be having a meeting in the smaller room. Cash your premium checks before December 31. We will be planning the Ice Fishing Day, January 8 and our ski trip in February. Winter Carnival committee should give us a report, too.


Santa’s Mail Box If you have been good and want to get your wish list to Santa now is your chance. Santa’s mail box will be at the Gladbrook Post Office Starting Friday Nov. 26th till Friday December 17th. Please remember to add your return address on the letter and Santa will be sure to respond. Senior Citizens Dinner The Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary will be hosting the Christmas Senior Citizens Dinner on Fri., Dec. 10th, at 11:30 in the “Festival of Trees” in the City Center. Call Pat Oettchen at 473-2530 to make reservations by Dec. 6th. A musical program is being planned.


Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
