Holiday Bazaar Donations Needed The Garwin 4th of July Fundraising Committee is hosting a Kid’s Holiday Bazaar on December 12 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. (more information to follow). Kids of all ages can come and purchase a gift for family members. All gifts are $1.00 (five gift limit). Free gift wrapping. The request if for new or gently used unwrapped items, examples: candles, home decor, kitchen items, flashlights, fishing/hunting items, perfume/cologne, misc. tools, ties, screwdrivers, tape measures, jewelry, bath & body, picture frames, etc. NO apparel please! Drop-off locations: Pronto, Lincoln Savings Bank at Garwin, GMG Preschool, c/o Jenni Gray.


“Brunch With Santa” The Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring “Brunch With Santa” Saturday, December 4 at the Gladbrook City Centre from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for preschoolers (ages 3-5). Reservations can be made by signing up at Crayon Corner Learning Center or by calling Karen Pieper (473-2723) by November 27.


2nd Annual Kid’s Holiday Bazaar The Garwin 4th of July Committee is sponsoring their 2nd Annual Kid’s Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, December 12, 2010, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old Grocery Store in Garwin. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming to town from 12 to 1 p.m. (picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus). Kid’s Shopping Spree immediately following, $1 gifts (five gift limit). Hot dog, chips and drink, $2.


Gladbrook Tree Lighting Activities & Festival of Trees Gladbrook Tree Lighting activities and Festival of Trees will be Wed., Dec. 1 on Main Street, Gladbrook, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Festival of Trees upstairs in the City Center. Santa Claus will be passing out sacks of goodies! Pictures with Santa and Farmers Market. Trolley rides, popocorn, cider and hot dogs all free beginning at 5:00 p.m.!! Lighting of tree, caroling and prizes at 6:30 p.m. Drawing for prizes.


Santa’s Mail Box If you have been good and want to get your wish list to Santa now is your chance. Santa’s mail box will be at the Gladbrook Post Office Starting Friday Nov. 26th till Friday December 17th. Please remember to add your return address on the letter and Santa will be sure to respond. Gladbrook-Reinbeck After Prom Entertainment/Prize CommitteeHoliday Bake Sale When: December 10, 2011 @ Grundy Center vs G-R Game Where: G-R High School Commons Area Bake sale proceeds will go towards the purchase of entertainment and prizes for Gladbrook-Reinbeck’s After Prom event on April 30, 2011! Farmers League Monday night Farmers League will begin bowling on Nov. 29, 2010 @ 7:00 pm. Anyone interested in bowling on this league is welcome to come. Jr. Auxiliary The Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary will perform a Candlelight Christmas Program for the Legion & Auxiliary members on Wed., Dec. 8th. We will practice at 6 p.m. followed by a supper and the program. All Juniors and their families plan to attend.


Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary The Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary will meet on Wed., Dec. 8th, for a 6:30 supper. The Juniors will perform the Candlelight Christmas Program around 7:15. Auxiliary members bring a grab bag gift. Hostesses are Melissa Sienknecht, Shannon Wright, Shanna Goos, and Sherry Scarf.


Community Breakfast Garwin Revitalization Committee will sponsor a community breakfast Sunday, December 5, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Garwin City Park Shelter House. Menu includes Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage, toast, coffee, and juice. All proceeds for community projects. This is a free-will offering.


Senior Citizens Dinner The Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary will be hosting the Christmas Senior Citizens Dinner on Fri., Dec. 10th, at 11:30 in the “Festival of Trees” in the City Center. Call Pat Oettchen at 473-2530 to make reservations by Dec. 6th. A musical program is being planned.


WOW Group The WOW Group will meet for Christmas luncheon on Wednesday, December 8, at noon, at the Gladbrook City Centre at the Festival of Trees. Meal will be catered. Please call Kay Lowry (641) 473-2625 for reservations. Please note date change.


Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
