Gladbrook Auxiliary The Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. on Mon., Sept. 13th. This is Music Month and Historian Karen Pieper will give a report. Hostesses are Louise Ulch and Joyce Swangel. There will be a School of Instruction for officers and committee chairs at 6:00 p.m.


Tama County Livestock & Fair Association September Meeting  The Tama County Livestock & Fair Association will hold the September meeting on Tuesday, September 14, at 7:00 pm at the Tama County Extension Office in Toledo.  The North Central Fall Meeting, to be held on September 19 will be discussed.  Tama County will need representatives to attend this meeting.  The Tama County meeting is open to anyone interested in our County Fair.  Peace Church Peace Church will begin its fall hours on Sun., Sept. 12th. Sunday School for Ages 3-Adults starts at 9:15. All are invited to bring their children for an hour of Sunday School which includes Bible readings and lessons, games, music, movies, field trips and special holiday activities. Everyone is also welcome to join us for a combination of traditional and contemporary worship service at 10:30. This Sunday worship is Christian Education Sunday and this service will embody the spirit of growing in Christ. Please join us!


Bowlers Wanted We are now forming our fall bowling leagues.  We have openings on our Sunday mixed league, Tuesday men’s league, Wednesday mixed league and our youth leagues on Sat.  If you are interested in any of these leagues you can call 641-473-2293 for more information.


Chapel’s Promotion Sunday Join Chapel Church as they celebrate Sunday School Promotion Sunday Sept 12, 9:30 am. All welcome, ages 3-adult, lunch afterwards; four children’s classes & four adult classes, including Christian parenting class that starts Sept 19. Worship service at 10:40 am, 1597 Abbott Ave, 5 mi. SW of Gladbrook or 2 mi. N of Garwin blacktop’s bus exchange. All welcome!


Gladbrook Legion/Auxiliary Ham Ball Dinner Gladbrook Legion/Auxiliary will have their annual Ham Ball dinner with cheezy potatoes, homegrown sweetcorn, salads and dessert on Sunday, September 26, serving 11-1 at the Memorial Bldg. Carry-outs available, call cell: 1-641-751-2039. All proceeds to the maintenance of YOUR building.


Youth Bowling Sign up for youth bowling will be on Sat. Sept. 11. @ 9:30 am for the 10:00 shift and 12:30 pm for the 1:00 shift. Based on interest will determine whether we have two shifts. We do participate in the Grand Prix Scholarship Program. This is a way to have fun and earn money for college at the same time. If there is enough interest we are also considering a 8 week Adult/Youth League on Monday nights starting at 6:00 on Sept. 20. Music on the Front Porch Music on the Front Porch at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook for September 14th (to be announced). Music begins at 6:30 p.m. Please bring your own lawn chair. Pop, popcorn, and hot dogs will be for sale. In case of bad weather it will be held indoors.


Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Gladbrook’s Farmer’s Market is every Wednesday evening 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. located at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church parking lot located across from Caseys. In case of bad weather the market will be held in the City Center. Gladbrook’s Farmer’s Market is open thru October.


Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.


Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen
