Little Miss or Mr. Corn Carnival All kids going into the 2nd or 3rd grade that are interested in running for Little Miss or Mr. Corn Carnival should be at the Park on Tuesday, June 8th at 6:30 to get their picture taken. Gladbrook City Wide Garage Sales The Gladbrook City Wide Garage Sales will be held on Saturday, June 5th, 2010, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are interested in registering a garage sale, please contact Susan Beichley by May 29th at 641-328-4362 or by email at susan.beichley@fsb-iowa.com. When calling or emailing please have the following information ready: name, address of sale and items for sale. Registration fee this year is $10 per sale site. Registration forms will be available at Casey’s.

Siren Testing Garwin Fire Department will test the warning sirens on the 3rd Monday of the month. This will be a year-round policy.

Beaman Reunion The Beaman High School alumni reunion will be held on Sunday, May 30th at 12:30 at the Beaman Memorial Hall. Reservations are due to Charlotte Zern, P.O. Box 153, Beaman by May 10th, 2010.


Corn Cob Queen Contest You the people of Gladbrook will have the chance to pick our Corn Cob Queen. All you have to do is give to Jeanne Paustian or Katie Grimmius the name of someone you would like to nominate, there is no limit on the number of names submitted, and can be either male or female. Out of these names, 5 finalists will be drawn. Of these 5 finalists one person will be honored to be the first Corn Cob Queen by means of voting with your change or dollars dropped in buckets placed at the Gladbrook Theatre, Hometown Foods, and Uptown Lounge. The name with the most money will be the Corn Cob Queen. Now before you fall out of your lazy boy laughing, there are some really great prizes to be given away. The Corn Cob Queen will have the honor of riding in the Grand Parade, $100.00 in trade dollars and a State Fair package for two. You can either call Jeanne Paustian 473-2802 or Katie Grimmius 473-2731 with your nominations or just give them a name the next time you see them. Nominations will be taken until May 28, and voting begins June 1 ending June 20. The Corn Cob Queen will be announced and crowned at the Kiddies Parade Thursday of Corn Carnival. All nominations must be 18 years of age or older.
