John Tomlison, 83, Traer, died April 3 Allen Hospital. Rev. Tori Randall, 48, Amherst, VA. died Jan. 9 in Amherst of cancer. Cedar Valley Hospice honors its volunteers. 20 YEARS AGO APRIL 8, 1999 Bo Schatzberg was selected to attend Boys state and Sarah Schneider was chosen to attend Girls state. Megan Stull, a jr. at Luther College, is a member of the 1999 Luther track & field team. Kyle Dirks, Reinbeck & Justin Schultz, Gladbrook, will be on Wartburg Knights golf team. William Davis, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Davis, is the winner of the Wartburg Regents Scholarship Paul Greiner, 96, died March 3 at Parkview Manor. John Paige, 72, Dike, died April 2 at his home in Dike. Vickie Herink has been named Postmaster of Reinbeck. Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Hinders celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on April 8. 40 YEARS AGO APRIL 19, 1979 Frances Blackford was the winner of $500 of Ernie’s bankroll this week. Rev. & Mrs. Curtis Schneider are parents of a daughter born April 16. Alice Hass, 70, Gladbrook, died April 9. Funeral services for Grace Barrier, 79, Reinbeck, was held April 19. Grace died at home on April 16. Mr. & Mrs. John Sass, Jr. Gladbrook, are parents of a son born April 4. Iris Bohnsack, 78, Treaer, died April 13. 50 YEARS AGO APRIL 17, 1969 Dr. H.V. Henderson sold his vet practice to Dr. Stark & Wright of Traer. Dr. Wright and his family will move to Reinbeck in the near future. Mr. & Mrs. Paul Ehrig sold their home to Dr. Wright. Robert Isenhower has resigned as head basketball coach & has accepted the position as athletic director. Mr. & Mrs. Mark Schildroth are parents of a daughter born April 13. Reinbeck Lion’s Club completed the huge task of repairing damage done by vandals to Black Hawk Twp cemetery. A new fence was placed around the cemetery and a new gate installed.
