John Kouthaus, 73, Grundy Center, died August 22 at the Grundy Hospital. Gale Mast, 87, Grundy Center, died August 20 at the Grundy Hospital. Mr, & Mrs. Richard Ohrt will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 29. Rochelle Mueller & Shane Siemens were married May 16 in Gladbrook. Nicole Jelaneland & Matt Creswell were married March 28 in Cedar Rapids. Mr. & Mrs. Tom Fogt are parents of a son born July 7. Bruce Newton, 66, Grundy Center, died August 17 following complications of a stroke. 40 YEARS AGO AUGUST 31. 1978 Reinbeck school started on August 23 with an enrollment of 687 students Pioneer Hi-Bred reveals company plans for a million dollar expansion for the Reinbeck plant. Charles Pickering, former Reinbeck resident, died August 23. 50 YEARS AGO AUGUST 29, 1968 Fire Chief, Sheridan Roberts, drove to Olds, IA. to pick up a new fire tanker truck. Reinbeck school opened August 26 with an enrollment of 796 students. Jim Wyatt will serve Grundy Co. Hospital as physical therapist. Marshall Shumway, 59, was not seriously injured when he lost control of his car. John Hilbert, Traer, was injured while augering beans. Dixie McGrane & Russell Lage were married August 23.
